MAIN Activities and functions

 

The main areas of the Department’s activities are as follows:

-          control of social care quality and licensing;

-          management of social programmes, instruments and projects;

-       certification of social workers, organization of professional skills improvement for social workers and personal care staff.

 

When carrying out assigned tasks the Department of Supervision of Social Services performs the following functions:

 

  • In the field of social care quality control and licensing, the Department;
  • In the field of social programmes, instruments and project management, the Department;
  • In the field of certification of social workers, organization of professional skills improvement for social workers and personal care staff, the Department.

 

Other activities

 

In addition to the main activities, the Department also participates in the projects supported by EU Structural Funds.

 

In 2004-2008, the Department managed and coordinated two projects of the European Community initiative EQUAL In Corpore and Through technology towards knowledge and work!

 

In 2010-2011, the Department implemented three EU-funded projects:

-       Improvement of work organization and resource management in the Department of Supervision of Social Services at the Ministry of Social Security and Labour, where the main objective was to strengthen administrative processes within the Department, to optimize management processes of ongoing social programmes, instruments or projects.

-       Improvement of skills of civil servants and staff of the Department of Supervision of Social Services at the Ministry of Social Security and Labour, which contributed to the improvement of skills and strengthening administrative abilities of the personnel.

-       Creation of social care licensing information system, which provided an opportunity to prepare properly for the licensing process of care institutions.

 

Since 2013, the Department implemented the following two EU-funded projects:

-       Implementation of the Common Assessment Framework in the Department of Supervision of Social Services at the Ministry of Social Security and Labour, in order to improve the quality of public services;

-       Development of employees’ competences in social service institutions.
